The Owner of this

facility desired a multiple discipline physician center when Terence L. Thornhill, Architect

was retained to

  perform design work.  

 

 

A cruciform concept

was developed providing one wing with a central reception area, records, lab, and other shared spaces – while the

other three accommodate

the practices of three independent physicians.  

  		 

Each corridor of the

three physician wings is accented by an arched roof and ceiling form, concealed lighting and clerestory windows. The four wings come together into a central waiting area, the ceiling of which is arched and enhanced with clerestory windows.

This central ceiling rises nearly 22 feet above the finished floor. The exterior of the building features a primary entry area and 3 secondary entrances.   Each entrance is identified with metal rod cross bracing intended to further enhance the technical nature of the building.
