Terence L. Thornhill, Architect was approached to design, in an adaptive way, the expansion and remodel of an existing dental office building. The design was conducted in such a way so as to allow the continuation of the dental practice - during construction. |

The roof of the original structure was left in place and, in fact, utilized in a load bearing capacity for the overframing of the new roof form. |

| Two new gable features were added: one over the office area and one at the newly expanded entry way. The new entry way features a more spacious and comfortable waiting area along with accessible restroom accommodations. |

Heavy timber gable truss features were added at every roof gable end to lend to the rustic nature of the new building language. |

The interior spaces were totally redesigned to feature warmer tones, higher ceilings and better flow to provide for a more comfortable work and patient environment. |

The view from each of the operatories has been enhanced with lush exterior landscaping and water features. |

The extensive use of pendant lighting as well as recessed can lighting greatly improves the interior environment and draws attention to the warm tones and wood paneling. |
